Revenge is a dish best served in a blazing hot inferno 5 stars I’ve never read Bethany-Kris or a mob story before. Deathless & Divided was an intense crash course into the lives of the Chicago mob family. The author creates a world that is powerful, sweet, sexy, shocking, and heartbreaking yet with men that I kept swooning over as they were being paraded in front my eyes. The story starts with Dino calling in the favor that Damian owes him; for me that was the first puzzle piece in an intricate story that speaks about family, honor, revenge, mob monstrosity and The Capo life. Dino trusted no one with his sister, Lily’s life but Ghost aka Damian Rossi. Damian Rossi was indebted to Dino for life and the only way to repay him was to keep Lily safe.

Lily has spent the last three years of her life away from her mob family; she detested them with a passion. They had after all taken away her family in the most brutal way. But time was running out for her and she was being forced to embrace the life she wanted to forget even existed. As she slowly accepts her fate and lets Damian in, she discovers new and fascinating facts about her fiancé. He can be sweet, considerate yet at the same time be uber alpha sexy. Unable to resist him any longer, Lily finds herself falling more and more into his spell. Damian Rossi known as the Ghost who does not leave any trace of his crime accepts his fate too. He knows he has to repay Dino with his life. So he enters the marriage market and finds his emotions scrambling to stay calm. Lily turns his world upside down; she is the better half of his soul and he finds himself in a beautiful mess. A mess with guns and bombs going off around the mob. A mess that may end them all.

This book was fast paced and left me breathless with its twists and turns. Ms. Bethany-Kris knows how to tell a truly beautiful story of intrigue, romance and action. It was a perfect blend of all three. As I neared the end, I was pretty sure it was gonna be a train-wreck, and I wanted to stop reading and get my bearing right. And then it happened and I was chanting no, no, no. And then the ENDING happened and I was gasping. My heart hurt, my throat hurt, my soul was crying, only no tear would escape my eyes. Not because I wasn’t upset or it wasn’t emotional but because it was and I just couldn’t handle it. Someone was out to get the Mob, someone with a hidden agenda. No one can be trusted. No one was safe. Damian with the help of Dino tries to keep the DeLuca and Rossi family safe. But in the end, will the unknown enemy reveal himself. Or will they all pay the highest price – with their life. One family. One order. One man’s quest for setting things right.
