Whispered the sound of silence

She said hello but
Her world was
Cloaked in the quiet
She speaks
The sound of silence
Visions blur
As tears stream down
She’s left
In the silence
She sleeps
In the silence
She walks
In the silence
She screams
In the silence
She misses
The tingle of voices
She cried for
The sound of music
The echo screams
Silently in her soul
She dreams
In the silence
She turned towards
The light
In the silence
Restlessly she roamed
But her life was
Shrouded in silence
She saw
The lips moving
She saw the songs
But her world
Was silent
In her lonely
Quiet world
She whispered
The sound of silence
This piece is inspired by my friend Elaina who is slowly losing her sense of sound. She said the one thing she will miss most is music. I know this piece is sad but I tried to portray what I would feel like if I suddenly could not hear. So this is for her!
