Damsel rescues knight 5 freaking stars

The story starts at the Poughkeepsie train station, where a homeless man, Blake, has been watching Livia from afar for months. Every day he waits at his designated area and looks out for her and counts the smile that she bestows on him. This he has been doing from day one, ever since he laid eyes on her. Normally people don’t notice the homeless; they don’t get picked up on anyone's raider and for Livia to have noticed Blake at all amazes him and he falls under her spell. In most stories, we read about the hero coming to the heroine’s rescue, well in this case, the so-called-damsel came to the knight’s rescue. And the rest as they say is an awesome story that made me smile, laugh and cry.
I absolutely adored the characters in this book. Blake and his two foster brothers Cole & Beckett. And then there’s Kyle, who I thought was a guy at first, is actually Livia's sister. Cold and vicious Eve and last but certainly not the least, one of my favorite characters, Mouse.
The first half of the book I spent learning about the various characters, their flaws and their imperfections and then came the second half where I spent most of the time near a tissue box wiping my tears. I don’t want to reveal the story but I will say that this book is like a roller coaster ride. It made my heart hurt with its callousness and made me wonder about human nature. As I kept on reading, because I really couldn’t stop moving forward, I watched these flawed individuals bind the broken pieces of their lives back together.
I loved reading this book for its humor, romance, sadness and happiness and above all its superbly genuine and imperfect personalities. So I would most definitely recommend Poughkeepsie to everyone. Please pick this awesome read, you won't be disappointed and let Debra Anastasia take you on a freakishly awesome roller-coaster ride.
